Wildlife and adventure photography

Safety first

Graham Season 6 Episode 37

Send us a text

There are a few things to consider when photographing wildlife as you'll often be off the beaten track. Here are a few of them:

  • Who knows where you are?
  • I suggest using "What3Words" as a way of letting people know where you are, or where you plan to be (find out more here).
  • Have a good paper map and think about your 'plan B' options.
  • Wear appropriate clothing (especially footwear).
  • Be prepared for changes in the weather.
  • Have a basic first aid kit suitable for where you are going.
  • Follow a river (downstream) if all else fails!
  • Carry a resilient form of id (for the work case scenario).
  • Use insect repellent.

You want to have a successful and enjoyable trip, and a little forethought and planning should keep it that way!
